Advanced Technology for Exceptional Care

We use state-of-the-art technology to make dentistry more efficient, so you spend less time taking care of your smile and more time showing it off.

Our high-tech equipment and dental treatments make your dental visits more comfortable, too.

With all of the recent advancements in dental technology, your trips to our Tucson dental offices will always be as pleasant as they are effective.

Practically-Painless Injections

Did you know that most of the discomfort you feel during a dental procedure is the initial numbing shot? We can reduce and sometimes even eliminate this discomfort in just two easy steps. Combined with our relaxing amenities, you might not even notice that you’re getting a shot!

Before we get started, we will apply a high-strength topical numbing gel at the site of the injection. A few minutes later, once the area is significantly numb, we’ll administer the anesthetic using a device called the DentalVibe® The DentalVibe emits ultrasonic vibrations that travel to the brain faster than the sensation of pain, effectively blocking the sensation of an injection. The best part? The DentalVibe doesn’t even look like a needle, which is often a big relief for anxious patients—especially kids!

Low-Radiation Digital X-rays

Digital X-rays are faster and more comfortable than traditional X-rays, and studies have shown that they emit up to 90% less radiation. Because digital X-rays do not require any chemical processing, the results are available on our computer screen within seconds. Dental X-rays are needed to help in identifying abscesses, cavities, gum disease, infections in the bone, and other abnormalities.

Intraoral Cameras

Like digital X-rays, digital photographs taken with our intraoral cameras are a useful diagnostic and patient education tool. These cameras show you what we see during your exam and help us guide you through your diagnosis and treatment options. We want you to understand your treatment needs and feel confident in the decisions you make for your smile.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography

Dr. Stratman is one of the first Tucson dentists to utilize cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) to detect problems and conditions in the teeth, soft tissues, and facial bones. Just like a medical CT machine, cone beam imaging gives us a precise, 3D model of the areas we’re evaluating. This allows us to better visualize infections, cracked teeth, and abnormalities in the bones and sinuses.

With CBCT, we have the ability to provide many complex restorative and cosmetic dental treatments right here in our office instead of referring out to a specialist. It’s the current standard of care for dental implants, and Dr. Stratman never places an implant without performing a CBCT scan first.

Laser Cavity Detection

Diagnodent® is a handheld laser that detects tooth decay in the very early stages, long before it can be seen with a visual exam or even X-rays. Diagnodent is also helpful in diagnosing cavities in hard-to-see areas, like between teeth and in the grooves of the back molars. When Dr. Stratman catches decay early, he can treat it with fewer shots and less drilling, if any!
